COMPARATIVE LITERATURE at Rutgers is a thriving interdisciplinary program offering a full doctoral curriculum and Ph.D. and a multi-tracked undergraduate major and minor. All students in Comparative Literature are challenged to think across national literatures and cultures and to consider the relationship of literary texts and theory to other disciplines and media. Both the graduate and the undergraduate programs offer students the freedom to shape a unique course of literary, linguistic, and cultural study within a framework of careful supervision and support. We offer our job-seeking graduate students extensive job placement counseling and help prepare our undergraduates for future lives in academia or the professions.
